A New Beginning and Renewal
A Message From The Coordinator of the
NeuroMedical Institute for Age Management
by Nancy J. Agnew BSEd, RN
This article is for you today, but it is
equally relevant any calendar morning, evening, or
afternoon of your life. Are you ready for a real
change in your mental and physical response to the
challenge of everyday living? And, let's be
realistic. There are challenges of every nature
present today that did not have to be approached a
few years ago.
We believe there is a solution for the winding
down of the physical resources, that appear to be
noticeable after approximately age forty. But, the
good news is that our program is for ages long, long
after forty. And, prevention is a part of this
also. The age forty number is emphasized because of
the natural decline of some physical substrates that
begins at about that time. More importantly, this is
a medically based approach, taken at our Institute,
relating
to the problems heard every day.
The interesting thing is that the questions many
times seem to take on the same theme. " I have so
little energy_ or, " My doctor thinks I am
depressed, but I really do not feel that way" or,
"my libido has decreased, and I do not understand
why. I am very different." or and these are very
common, "I exercise very often, but I cannot lose or
shift body fat as I once could, and "I seem to have
lost the mental sharpness that is so important in
what I do for a living."
Dr. Rex Anderson began to express avid interest
in the process of aging many years ago, largely
because he saw and heard many of these same themes
expressed in his exam room. But he was seeing
patients for neurological problems. I was hearing
them also, because I was working at his side, as I
have for almost twenty five years. We frequently
discussed how the side complaints of our patients
were so similar, accompanied, of course, by the
health deterioration for which they were referred.
As the years passed, his knowledge grew, but
more importantly, it became apparent that we now had
tools that could be used to measure the body
response to the aging process, and, these processes
could be carefully monitored medically for ongoing
physical response and optimal levels of essential
substances.
We propose a program designed for the truly
committed individual. You will often hear the word
committment in my articles. This program is a
serious new beginning for a rewarding life. You
will be called upon to adhere to a wonderfully
healthy nutritional program, (and it is a workable
program), serious exercise that is planned and
carried out, and the advice by committed (there it
is
again) medical personnel, who are willing to spend
time to get you on the right track. If you are
accepted into this plan, you will have a physician
looking after you 24/7 for Age Management
surveillance. I work directly with him in every
phase. I have followed the program myself, and it
works; but only if you work, and follow advice.
Please understand this is not a competing program
with your own personal physician. We do not treat
common ailments, hypertension, cardiac disease, or
any of the problems that may be under current
treatment. You will continue with your own personal
health advisor.
But, as our patient, you have the advantage of a
neurologist with over thirty years experience. Dr.
Rex Anderson is ready and experienced in providing
advice concerning any neurological warning flags
that
surface
during our assessment. And most certainly, anything
showing up that should require other medical input
will be brought to your attention for your personal
health care provider's information. But remember,
this is a neurologist who has studied Age Management
for many years.
If you believe that an Age Management Program is
right for you,
please contact me. We expect and welcome questions.
Listen for Dr. Anderson on KRLD Ranger Radio
(1080).
We will be holding small audience lectures,
requiring registration, as it is our desire to speak
with groups that want to know more about how to live
life at its fullest, and compete effectively. Call
our offices in Dallas, (214) 651-6161) or our
Abilene office (325) 672-5611. Ask for me. If I am
with a patient, either I or Dr. Anderson will return
your call.
